Re: LWRP Coastal Consistency Review
ROBERT R AUTERI LIVING TRUST & NANNETTE M. AUTERI LIVING TRUST,
SCTM #1000-123.-5-31
This application is to remove the existing sanitary system and replace it with a new I/A
sanitary system consisting of a Fuji Clean Cen 5 treatment tank, an inlet adapter 90, an
Orenco pump and 52' of Quick 4 plus standard infiltrators designed as a combined
system serving both the main house and the cottage; and to install and maintain silt
fencing around the work area until the site is fully stabilized.
The proposed action has been reviewed under Chapter §268, Waterfront Consistency
Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization
Program (LWRP) Policy Standards.
Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form
submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my
recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the policies of the
LWRP as follows:
Policy 5. Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold.
5.1 Prohibit direct or indirect discharges that would cause or contribute to contravention
of water quality standards.
C. Ensure effective treatment of sanitary sewage and industrial discharges by:
3. modifying existing sewage treatment facilities to provide improved
nitrogen removal capacity.
Policy 6. Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Southold
ecosystem.
6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands.
A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town
Board of Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands
under their jurisdiction
The proposed installation of an Innovative/Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment
System (I/A OWTS) is consistent with Policy 5.1.C.3, which calls for the replacement of
existing sewage treatment facilities with ones that have improved nitrogen removal
capacity. The proposed I/A OWTS will reduce nitrogen inputs into adjacent waters.
The proposed I/A OWTS is consistent with Policy 6.3.A, which states that actions must
comply with the Southold Town Board of Trustees' laws and regulations. The proposed
location meets the wetland setbacks stated in Town Code Chapter §275-5D(a)[4] Septic
tank. 75 feet.
The proposed action has been reviewed under Chapter §268, Waterfront Consistency
Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization
Program (LWRP) Policy Standards.
