CUDDY, SCTM #1000-115.-3-19 This application is to install two (2) basement egress windows and an IIA OMITS septic system. The proposed action has been reviewed under Chapter §268, waterfront consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town code and the Local waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the policies of the LWRP as follows: Policy 5. Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold. 5.1 Prohibit direct or indirect discharges that would cause or contribute to contravention of water quality standards. C. Ensure effective treatment of sanitary sewage and industrial discharges by: 3. modifying existing sewage treatment facilities to provide improved nitrogen removal capacity. Policy 5. Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Southold ecosystem. 6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands. A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their jurisdiction The proposed installation of an Innovative/Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (I/A OWTS) is consistent with Policy 5.1.C.3 which calls for the replacement of existing sewage treatment facilities with one that has an improved nitrogen removal capacity. The proposed I/A OWTS will reduce nitrogen inputs into adjacent waters. The proposed action of installing a I/A OWTS system is consistent with Policy 6.3.A, which states that actions must comply with the Southold Town Board of Trustees' laws and regulations. The proposed I/A OWTS system complies with the wetland setback in Town Code §275-5D(a)[4] Septic tank: 75 feet. The proposed action has been reviewed under Chapter §268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (I-WRP) Policy Standards. 2
