SPECIAL MEETING
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2026
A special meeting of the SOUTHOLD TOWN ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS was held at the
Southold Town Hall Annex, Second Floor Conference Room, 54375 Main Road at Youngs
Avenue, Southold on Thursday, September 17, 2026 commencing at 5:00 P.M.
The public had access to view and listen to the meeting as it was happening via Zoom. However,
this meeting was not a public hearing and no testimony was solicited or received.
Present were:
Leslie Kanes Weisman, Chairperson Elizabeth Sakarellos, Board Assistant
Robert Lehnert, Member Donna Westermann, Office Assistant
Margaret Steinbugler, Member Julie McGivney, Assistant Town Attorney
Patricia Acampora, Member
Nicholas Planamento, Member
4:37 P.M. Chairperson Weisman called the meeting to order.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Members Weisman, Acampora, Lehnert, Planamento and Steinbugler.
This Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).
EXECUTIVE SESSION: 4:37 P.M.
4:37 P.M. -A Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by Member Planamento to
enter into Executive Session in order to receive Attorney Advice. Vote of the Board: Ayes:
Members Weisman, Acampora, Lehnert, Planamento and Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly
adopted (5-0).
5:09 P.M. -Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by Member Planamento to
exit the Executive Session. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Members Weisman, Acampora, Lehnert,
Planamento and Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).

OVERTURN NOTICE OF DISAPPROVAL, GRANT WITH CONDITIONS:

Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).
RESOLUTIONS:
RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by
Member Lehnert to authorize advertising of hearings for the Regular Meeting to be held on
Thursday, October 1, 2026. A Work Session will begin at 12:30 P.M. and Public Hearings will
commence at 1:00 P.M. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Member Weisman (Chairperson), Lehnert,
Acampora Planamento and Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly adopted(5-0).
RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by
Member Acampora to approve Minutes from the Regular Meeting held September 3, 2026. Vote
of the Board: yes: Member Weisman(Chairperson) Lehnert Acampora Planamento and
Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).
RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by
Member Lehnert to grant a one-year extension to ZBA No. 7809, Christopher Lazos, 1200 Leeton

Drive, Southold,NY SCTM No. 1000-59-1-1 to expire on October 19. 2027. Vote of the Board:
yes: Member Weisman(Chairperson) Lehnert Acampora Planamento and Steinbugler. This
Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).
RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Motion was offered by Chairperson Weisman, seconded by
Member Planamento to grant a Final one-year extension past the allowable six (6)years to ZBA
No. 7375, Joseph Mitchell, 1380 Corey Creek Drive, Southold,NY SCTM No. 1000-78-4-18.3 to
expire on June 25, 2027. Vote of the Board: yes: Member Weisman (Chairperson), Lehnert,
Acampora Planamento and Steinbugler. This Resolution was duly adopted (5-0).
There being no other business properly coming before the Board at this time, the Chairperson
declared the meeting adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 P.M.
