Therefore, no permit is now required pursuant to the Freshwater Wetlands Act (Article 24 of the New York State Environmental Conservation Law) to construct a single family dwelling and associated structures. However, your parcel is within 100 feet of a freshwater wetland which we expect will soon be regulated. Wetland GP-16 is currently depicted on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Tentative Freshwater Wetlands Maps for Suffolk County and we expect it to appear on the Final Maps. Thus, we anticipate this wetland and its adjacent area (within 100 feet) will be regulated in the future. You will be notified by this Department when the Final Freshwater Wetland Maps are in effect. At that time you will be required to apply for and be granted a permit from this Department before proceeding with future clearing, excavating, filling, building, or any other activities regulated pursuant to ECL Article 24 and 6NYCRR Part 663 on this parcel.
