Alvah Goldsmith, Secy Dear Sir !,Ve are planning; to open a boat channel and basin in. the "drain" and pond which lays between our propretys and empties dir eetly into peconic bay at ba_yviewq in Southold Thi pondss area was once fresh water onds butsince the last few heavy storms and the resulting erosion is nova salt and the tide rises and falls to some degree in there . We hope to develop our land surrounding this pond area into building lots . On advise of the Army Engineers, we are told we must get 'clearance" from the town of Southold stating there are no objections to the proposed worn_ vie vimnt to do. Enclosed is a copy of our engineerE drawing of the proposed �rmr_k_ beyond hi.-h water line, all other =vviork is to be done on our private lands . As yet no definate date has been set to begin this work, but time hope to begin_ soon after we get the necessary permits .
